Madeline Gambino is a Postgraduate Research Associate, where she teaches “Catholics in America.” Gambino holds a Ph.D. in Religion from Princeton University. She is a scholar of American religious history, specializing in Catholic studies, religion and space/place, religion and race, and religious decline in the late twentieth and early twenty-first centuries. Her research concerns the institutional and lived religion of decline in the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Philadelphia, focusing on the intersection of parish and school closures with issues of race, urban change, and age.
