The Center for the Study of Religion at Princeton University is pleased to announce that Lauren R. Kerby will be joining us in the Fall as an Associate Research Scholar. Dr. Kerby will work with the Center’s new project on Religion and the Public Conversation, leading a team of graduate students trained to produce new media on religion and pursuing her own scholarly research. She plans to use multimedia storytelling and the concept of “deep stories” to surface the invisible operations of religion in social structures and cultural norms for public reflection and remediation. Dr. Kerby received her Ph.D. from Boston University and was most recently a Religious Literacy Specialist with the Religion and Public Life Program at Harvard Divinity School. She is the author of Saving History: How White Evangelicals Tour the Nation’s Capital and Redeem a Christian America (UNC Press 2020).Photo by Michelle Schapiro
